Butterfly Release

It was a big day on Tuesday! We came in the morning to find a butterfly instead of a chrysalis. Our caterpillar that the class named Jimmy John (I can’t make this stuff up…) completed a full metamorphosis. For devotions, we released the newly adult butterfly outside. Zoom in on the first picture to see it flying away in the distance. Then we came inside to reflect on how God changes us, too. If we are in Christ, we are a new creation. Kids noticed God’s creativity, power, and ability to make all things grow and change. It’s a gift to have these conversations with your insightful kids.

Family Chistmas Gathering

Dear Van Drunen Family,


We are making plans for our Van Drunen Christmas Family Gathering.  Keith and Cher are willing to host us again.  With the information we have gathered at this point, the date we are looking at is Monday, December 26.


We would love to think we could all get together at one time, but as our family grows, it doesn't seem possible, at least not this year.


Please let us know as soon as possible if this is a workable choice for you.

SHIPSHEWANA

CALLING ALL VANDRUNEN LADIES!!!

We have scheduled another Shipshewana trip for this summer! We are planning on Tuesday, July 12th.  We will decide on the time when it gets closer.  Also, we have discussed a new plan as to how the day will go.  We are thinking do flea market in the morning then everyone is kind of on their own for a light lunch in town, and then we will shop in town until the shops close and then we will go out for a big dinner.  Since all the shops close at 5 we are hoping this gives us more time.  Let me know if you're in!

Garden Clean-Up

Holiday Classic Champs!

Keelan and his team won the Chicago Holiday classic last evening! They went undefeated in the tournament and had to beat a pretty good team twice yesterday. See yous kids at the wedding. 

Volunteer Needed

We would like the Christmas Story read from Luke 2:1-20 at our Christmas gathering on December 26 at Keith & Cher's home.  Do we have a volunteer?

Keelan's Hockey Game

Keelan has a hockey game on Sunday December 20th at 5:20pm at Midwest Ice Arena in St John if anyone is interested in coming. This picture was taken after we won the Thanksgiving tournament, all the boys were excited to throw the sticks and gloves in the air. We have had a lot of fun this season and the team is pretty good.

Aunt Lee's Party is at the Heritage Protestant School, not the church.  ( hope this isn't confusing).

Food for Aunt Lee's and Van Drunen Christmas Gatherings

Dear Family,

For those who would like to contribute to our family dinners, the following are needed:

Aunt Lee - Elmer's family - bread & butter, 2 desserts, veggies and dip. (Monday, December 21, at the Protestant Reformed Church, at 6:00 p.m.

Van Drunen family - veggies and dip, 3 appetizers, broccoli salad, taffy apple salad, pretzel salad, 7-up jello, 4 desserts, 2 bags of Lays potato chips, 2 bags of Lays potato chips,  We will serve ham and beef tenderloin sandwiches.  (ham - Elmer, beef - Keith).  Rolls & drinks - Cher.

Van Drunen Christmas

Dear Family,

We have set our Christmas date for Saturday, December 26, 2:00 p.m. at Keith & Cher's home.

By aiming at this date, we recognize the great probability that we won't be able to repeat the "perfect"
attendance record of Blue Harbor 2015.  Hopefully, this date works for as many of us as possible.
