Well, the results are in- aparently, the couch featured on this blog's header is an "IMPACT" model which was on sale from 1977-1990, then discontinued for a year. However, due to popular demand, it was back in 1991 for a few years. After e-mailing the flexsteel people, here's the letter (and picture above) that I got back:
Yous Kids:
Please note that the IMPACT 6393-75 sofa sold for $760.00 in a 30 grade fabric. It was a very popular sofa. It was available as a sofa, love seat, chair and ottoman. The sofa was 91” overall.

Today, Flexsteel sells through our retailers several sofas in a longer length in fabric or leather selections. Our leathers usually are the same number as the fabric except that the leathers usually start with a 7, 8 or 9 in the four digits. 7000 numbers are contemporary/transitional
8000 numbers are traditional or skirted and 9000 numbers are country. Of course the looks can vary depending what fabrics are selected.

Flexsteel styles can be reviewed on our website http://www.flexsteel.com/. We do not put all of our fabrics and leathers out there though. Some of our sofas in the longer lengths would be as
follows: (Rudi's note- she lists a lot of their current models. I've removed these to save space- but I've included the model numbers in the "comments" section).
Flexsteel has also partnered with the Antiques Roadshow TM and also with Wrangler to put together some great collections. We are very proud of them! Thanks so much for including us in your family news blog. We really enjoyed seeing it and reliving some of our past and are happy to be part of a great company and product line - where quality begins on the inside!
Sincerely,

Boy if that fake living room could talk. Can you imagine all the fake naps taken in that room.
If only the real family room had "Fake Indian Burns", "Fake Spider Bites", and "Fake Noogies" but alas our lives can not take place in a fake place.
don't forget the fake "typewriter." Does anyone remember that move? That was the worst!
My friends i believe this picture must have been taken at the Coach's house. Please check out the Orangeish tint. Very reminiscent of the Coach's make up for television.
I do believe that those cups on the coffee table do not actually hold coffee, my friend, but in reality some of Mike Ditka's "Kick Ass Red."
Jason, you look like some sort of tribal cheiftan with your cheetah (or is it leopard) get up.
Rudi, good work on the letter to FlexSteel. It makes me want to buy the Richmond 99" model right now sight unseen.
