Wedding / Life Update

The people have spoken, and they want more information from Alex and Heidi. This is my attempt. First, I am happy to report some great news - we put a contract on a house! I find it hard to believe myself, but we found a great townhome that is being constructed in a new development in Alexandria, VA right near Old Town. It's extremely close to the metro and is within walking distance of just about everything we would need. In short, it is exactly what we wanted. Here are a few teaser pics from the model home that has already been constructed. Hopefully we can get some of yous kids to stay over once we move in. Second, I have an update on wedding weekend logistics. If you go to our wedding website (password 09092012), you will find a new link titled “Accommodations.” On it, you can find two hotel group rates and instructions on how to book there. You will also find links to a map where they are both located. Grandpa and Grandma, My Mom and Dad, and Karen and Nick are staying in a home near the Silver Spring Comfort Inn option. The other option is more expensive, swankier, and closer to some of DC’s nightlife, etc. Both are good options and are close to the metro, setting you up for a relatively easy transportation weekend. So feel free to start booking! (Side note on wedding save the dates / invitations: I tried to get everyone’s email to send a save the date to all aunts, uncles, and cousins, but I may have missed someone. If I missed you, be assured you are invited, but please send me a working email and I can get you a save the date. Or, I can print one myself or get someone else to print one so those without regular access to email know they are invited. Also, please note that we will do a get-together celebration sometime after the wedding in the area (probably Wisconsin) and everyone will be invited. So be ready for that as well, especially if you can’t make the trip out East, which I totally understand). Third, the question that was actually asked of me – registries. . . We are still working on it, but once again we should have a section of our website go live in the next couple of days directing you to appropriate registries. At this time it might be overly weighted to tools, so hopefully we can get a bit of balance there shortly. Much more to come soon!

Call Me Maybe?

I took a sign language class this year with Patti Powell and had to do a final project of signing a song. My roommate Mel and I chose the favorite of preteens (and our house) worldwide: Call Me Maybe. Enjoy :)

Showers

Emily and Scott are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond as well as Target.  Alex and Heidi - where are you registered?

Instruments?

Justin is thinking about joining the band next year. I know every Kenny G, Clarence Clemmons, Tito Puente and Glen Dorsey need to start somewhere but I'd like there to be a low investment as we begin the process. Anyone have instruments around you aren't using? Otherwise, kazoo here we come!

Gesch Family Segway Tour

As part of the Trinity Graduation/Mother's Day weekend celebration, the Brian and Kathy Clan did a downtown Chicago Segway tour.

I was infected with the Segway bug last summer when Dominik and I did a tour.  It was an awesome time- I highly recommend it!

Enjoy the vid.

Good Neighbors

On Saturday, Van Drunen Heating participated in the Good Neighbor Parade in Lansing, Illinois.  Here are a few photos of our day being and meeting good neighbors.

Mother's Day

Family - Keith & Cher invited us for Mother's Day.  Dad and I are in charge of the menu.  We understand if you have other plans, but want to invite whoever can come to lunch at 1:00 p.m on Sunday.  Let us know if you are able to come by Friday - 6:00 p.m.  The main menu items will be from the grill;  additional dishes are welcome.
