The video is here! The song Moves Like Jagger (as requested by aunt Karyl) was selected for Karley's family wedding dance. Special thanks to Sam for agreeing to be our videographer in his kitchen this morning. Below the video I wrote out a list of the moves in order if that helps you memorize and learn the dance as you watch the tutorial. The chorus is the same each time. Bring your A-game on May 25 everyone!

For those of you who don't speak "Xander-ese," he's repeatedly interrupt-yelling "ZACCHAEUS" because his favorite part of the song is "Zacchaeus... YOU COME DOWN!"

The Aunts Go Marching

Just wanted to share a few pictures of Karley's shower that happened last Sunday. I have to hand it to the aunts - they've outdone themselves. She and Sam got so many wonderful things and it was a beautiful event to kick off the countdown to her big day. Thanks so much to all the aunts for making it an awesome experience for us to celebrate Karley and Sam! I loved that I caught a few pictures of the classic laugh sessions...I'm sure you all can imagine the trademark laughter that goes with the image. Please note the blue tongue that Joan Wories is sporting in line with blue theme. 

I highly doubt the guys had a party as classy as ours with their fish fry, but I'll bet it was just as delicious ;) 

Changes for the DeVries'

So a couple of changes are happening for our family.  The main one is that we will be transitioning from Faith-Valpo to lead Faith-Highland which is our enfolding of First CRC Highland, a 104 year-old Christian Reformed Church.  You can read the section of my sermon Sunday were I shared of this change by clicking here.

We weren't looking to leave Valpo and are extremely sad to change campuses away from the Van Dyke's.  I also won't be able to be the youth group leader for Caleb & Cole and their friends for their Senior Year, which really bums me out.  However, I know they will all be left in very capable hands.

The other change is that I am going to begin as an Adjunct Professor for Trinity.  All of their Adult Studies programs requires 2 religion classes and I'm going to start teaching for them when my schedule allows.  I figured with all of our Troll connections, I'd better share this soon.  From my first visit their over 30 years ago to teaching there next month, it's been a journey!

We are having a fish fry at Keith's house on Sunday at 1:00 while the women are at the shower. All are invited, it is kindof a mens afternoon. We would appreciate if some people would bring some items to go along with the fish. All we need is pop, potatoes, and a few desserts. Please post if you are going to attend. Big Mike's bday surprise!

Today we surprised dad for his 50th birthday! As you can see in the video, we may have stunned him a little with the surprise. Happy birthday dad! Click on the second pic for a link to some video footage.

Whoa- that's a lot of eggs!

Just a quick note of thanks to Karen and Nick for hosting Easter. The Gesch fam had a great time- and it was (as always) great to see Yous Kids. Karen, we loved the candle idea- we all miss Nikki and it was very nice to formally remember her as a group.
