It's been raining here for two days. While I'm sure that many of you are in towns where drainage is bad, I'm going to guess that we're the unfortunate winners of the "bad storm sewer" contest.
On the glass half-full perspective... while my garage is flooded, my basement is bone dry thanks to the drain tile and pumps that we had installed about a month ago. Keep reaching for that silver lining!

Dear Rudi,
This has to be very frustrating. The joys of a homeowner.
Suggestion - you should e-mail this video to your town officials -
water department. Then go to the town board meeting with it. You must get something done - this cannot continue.
I'm not one for complaining - but when something is now right - do everything you can to get it fixed.
Grandma Van Drunen
I'm suggesting the same thing. It's great documentation for a problem that is obviously not city-wide. We have that downtown, too. The sewer on our side of the street doesn't drain, but the sewers around us are fine. It's fun to watch people park and then try to figure out how to get to the sidewalk!
Update: I've been requesting that our sewer get "jetted" for the past year and a half. I made this request every time it rained to the village public works office. After taking this video, I e-mailed it to my alderman (it's an election year). The public works crew was at my house the next morning at 7:15 AM. :)
Way to go - Political Activist Rudi. I have a few social justice issues I'd like to sign you up for. Glad it was taken care of & hopefully this will resolve future issues as well.
Awesome.
